Hi
I have received some footage grabbed via FCP using Blackmagic 8 bit codec, when i try and import it into vegas i am getting two audio layers but no video at all. Have installed black magic codecs before and can see the video in aftereffects as well as in quicktime player, but not in vegas.
Furthermore i tried exporting a generic file using blackmagic 8 bit settings from vegas and imprted the file in vegas and it works fine. What am i doing wrong with the files from FCP or am i missing a vegas upgrade or driver issues ? ps any help much appreciated.
thanks.

It sounds like Vegas 8 doesn't like something that FCP did when it rendered the file since it can read Blackmagic files that it creates itself. I assume these are AVI files and there is an option in Vegas that is checked by default to "Create an OpenDML (AVI version 2.0) compatible file". Perhaps this is the key to making it work. See if there is a way from FCP to make an OpenDML AVI 2.0 compatible file. (i'm just guessing here and I don't have FCP to test it out, but but since no one else has answered this post... it's worth a try) ;-)
In fact, you might want to render a test file without this checked and see if Vegas can read it back in. If it can't then that's the problem. If is can then I have no idea what might be wrong with the file (sorry).
