Playing multiple clips on screen (like video collage)

I want multiple clips (say 4) to play on the screen at the same time.
How can i do that? I am using Vegas PRo 8

Also, i want to keep everything on the screen in sepia or black and white except one person or object (who needs to be left out in native color)

Playing four clips at the same time is very easy done using track motion (see the following link:)

Getting the whole picture sepia except one person requires masking. Masking can be performed on the basis of color, luminance etc. The best way to perform this, depends completely on the scene where you want to do this. It might involve a lot of work when the scene is not suitable for it. So you better show a picture of the scene that you would like to use.

Regarding the second post - Think of it as a wedding reception. When the couple is dancing, i want to keep both of them in native color and rest all should slowly turn into BW or sepia.

I'm afraid that this needs to be done by rotoscoping in After Effects or Boris Red (creating your mask frame by frame)...
