Seven Thousand Year timeline: Vegas or Boris?
by Norman Willis on Aug 9, 2009 at 8:50:56 pm

I need to make a timeline spanning seven thousand years of history. I am envisioning seven rectangular bars, butted end-to-end together.

At some point I will need to emphasize the conjunctions of these bars (the 'thousand year' marks), and at other points I will need the other six bars to disappear (or 'gray out'), and then zoom in on the single thousand year bar that remains on screen.

Can I do this natively in Sony Vegas Pro 9.0a (and maybe Photoshop CS2)? Or does this job require Boris RED?

See if John Rofrano's tutorial called Using Parent Motion to make a moving film strip is of any help at all.

That was not exactly what I had in mind, but that is pretty cool.

I can think of one location where I would like to use that effect, in the future. Thank you for letting me know about it.
