Auto Ripple

When I do an "Auto Ripple", do the volume envelopes also move, or will I have to go all the way through a project and re-adjust the envelope?

can you save as a different 'test' project, make some changes, and find out?

Steve, I believe it will but, even if it doesn't, all you have to do is click Undo and you're back where you started.

Just did an experiment that revealed that the envelopes (both audio and video) moved with the events when an event was deleted and auto ripple was on. (Vegas 6)

Yea, you must have to delete an event for it to work. I had a gap between two events, and I used auto ripple to move them all my tracks (5)to the left, and the envelope stayed put and didn't move with the events I was moving. So it must work when you delete with auto ripple on, but not work when you are just sliding events to the left or right.

Steve, there are 3 different modes of Auto Ripple (drop- down option beside the toolbar icon) and you need to make sure you choose the right one.
I generally have mine set to option #3.

Here's the description from the Online Help menu.

#1. Affected Tracks
Ripples only the tracks where you performed the edit.

#2. Affected Tracks, Bus Tracks, Markers, and Regions
Ripples events, keyframes, and envelopes on tracks where you performed the edit.
This command also ripples the following:
* Markers
* Regions
* CD track and index markers
* Command markers
* Keyframes and envelopes on audio or video bus tracks

#3. All Tracks, Markers, and Regions
Ripples events, keyframes, and envelopes on all tracks in your project.
This command also ripples the following:
* Markers
* Regions
* CD track and index markers
* Command markers
* Keyframes and envelopes on audio or video bus tracks

If you manually move it you aren't using AUTO ripple. Yes I deleted.
