Remove 1K audio tone bleed?
by Larry Watts on Aug 3, 2009 at 6:40:38 pm

A 1K audio tone bled into a TV interview and I cannot find a filter in Vegas 8 that can eliminate it.

I did find one in Adobe audition that does , but it wrecks my workflow. I suspect there is a way to do it in Vegas, but so far I'm empty handed.

Any ideas?

Thanks

You can try adding the Parametric EQ and set the Band to 1K and it should remove it. Unfortunately, it will remove everything else at 1K including part of the voices in the interview. You may have to use a tool like iZotope RX which is more selective about removing noise.

The parametric EQ will work, if the 1k tone is just that. set it as a notch filter with the bandwith, "Q" as narrow as possible to reduce filtering out other audio. Hope this helps, Danny
