Vegas Studio 9 Crashing w/MP4 related project (and won't re-open project - ARGH!)

Hi, guys. I'm having a problem with Vegas 9 crashing with an MP4 related project.

I'm pretty much a novice here. What I've done is create a project mixing 3 MP4s together along with an MP3 and some text overlays.

First when I try to render the project (after finishing it's creation and saving) Vegas strangely only renders about 15 seconds of the entire 12-ish minute video.

So I shut down Vegas and re-open, then attempt to re-open my saved project (which was working fine when I was editing it all). And suddently it all crashes and I get this error...

Bleh...this means nothing to me. All I know is after this happened the first time I just thought maybe it was a random corruption of some sort, so I started all over and recreated the whole thing (about 3-ish hours of work...AGAIN). And now the project is giving me the same old error all over again.

Anyone know what this might mean?

I'm running the latest Vegas Studio 9

Are all the clips of the same type, size, frame rate and audio spec's. I would suspect this could be a problem.
