OK...
I'm trying to get the best out of some clips for a client for youtube. I am using the original time line and original media when possible - in some cases an AVI render is all i have.
My understanding is that uncompressed avi progressive scan render from Vegas 6 or 8 is the way to go.
How about file dimensions?.. thinking of 576X432 to keep the picture as sharp as possible... square pixels? uncompressed AVI...
heres the catch..
when ever i do any of this,.. my AVI file does not have audio when i open it in quicktime its there in Windows media player.. QT just doesn;t pick it up...
So.. to get the absolute best pic quality out of youtube...
What is the consensus... QT H264 sure did better than sending straight AVI to youtube..
So, what do I feed QT Pro for the best render possible..
Are optimal frame dimensions ( slightly smaller then DV NTSC a good strategy?)
here's the existing file in question from NTSCDV AVI to QTpro H264
thanks for any feed back.. so many conflicting stories when i searched for this so thought I'd out it out to my fellow Vegas users..
Trying something with the mainconcept mp4 by Wayne Grauel on Feb 25, 2009 at 1:08:49 am
i was trying to figure out how they used h265 in previous posts.. and i just found what mike was talking about in a previous post its the main concept mp4.. ( after i searched for an answer to my question..._) let me see if this works.. or if there is some specific best way to send them up to youtube.. I'm all ears
OK.. mainconcept AAC MP4 doesn't work by Wayne Grauel on Feb 25, 2009 at 2:16:17 am
I thought all of that looked familiar.. - that main concept AAV mp4 file type.. it plays great in QT but when it uploads to youtube there's nothing there...
So.. end result is, my searching on here has not resulted in anything definitive... the best info i got so far was to upload H264 rendered from QT pro.. so back to my original question...
whats the best render for QT pro.. or what is the procedure to render out hi quality video to youtube ( hi-quality..all things considered)...

Hi Wayne
There's been numerous posts about encoding for You Tube; a few recently since YouTube changed their procedures.
Search the forum. There was also a large post from DSE, recently about that and he's got a complete tutorial on Vasst's website. That tutorial has been really helpfull to me personally.

hi Allen...
Yes, i read DSE's article.. and he confirmed a lot of what i knew.. Square Pixels.. frame rate, but my mp4 files don't play in you tube..
I'm trying to export square pixels, uncompressed, progressive scann to AVI for Quicktime pro can render it to H264.. but when ever i mess with the AVI file format Quicktime does not import my audio..
i made a new post that perhaps cleared up what my problem really is...
Getting AVI ( with proper settings for progressive scan) in to quicktime
