Vegas handles the HDV from my FX1 just fine. Edits the native format on the timeline without having to use intermediates or proxies, just slower. A dual core minimum would be nice.

Hello, I believe the Sony will be 1080i and the JVC will be 720p, Not sure about the Canon. No problems with Vegas though. I normally set my project settings to progressive as my Sony HVR-A1 is 1080i and fast moving subjects in interlaced video on an LCD screen looks terribe IMO. Plus if your going to chromakey, interlaced video is very dificult to do. One other thing. If your computer is not a newer dual core, you can convert the HDV files to Cineform AVI files. This codec has come with Sony Vegas since ver. 7 I believe. It's a lossles format that can handle multiple renders, chromakeying better than the native m2t files HDV cameras output. Hope this helps.
