what minimum hardware spec to edit AVCHD in Vegas?

I have a C2D E6600 laptop (2.4ghz IIRC) with 2GB ram. Will that cope with AVCHD, or are we talking quadcore minimum?

Adam, a 2.8 GHz processor is what Sony recommends as the minimum.
Even folks with quad cores are finding AVCD to be a bit of struggle to edit `:-(
