Vegas NOT rendering as one file (Need help)
by Robert Lam on Aug 19, 2008 at 4:52:33 pm

I'm trying to render a large project (about 45 min) and Vegas is no rendering it all as one file. After about 5 hours of rendering the video is broken into three SEPERATE files. Any way of preventing this and getting it all as one clip?

format your render drive from FAT 32 (how it probably came out of the box for Apple compatibility) to NTFS, and there willbe no file size limitation.

Hi again Doug,

Will this process effect my computer in any other way? I just don't want to loose anything.

Cheers,

Rob

Robert,
Douglas is absolutely right, the drive you are rendering to is in
fat32 format....Well, formatting a hard drive cleans off everything
on it and makes it anew. Seems you are rendering to your one system drive. So have all your software, media and footages backed up on a few DVD's. Then you simply reinstall windows and choose to format in
NTFS when prompted. Then when windows is installed and running, just
simply reinstall your applications. (seems as if you are serious about your editing, then formatting to NTFS is something you need to do).

You don't need to wipe anything. You can convert a drive from FAT32 to NTFS without fear of losing anything. I do this at least once a month, due to forgetfullness for portable drives.
