Sony Vegas Bordering with Blur?
by David Scott on Jul 24, 2008 at 11:41:11 pm

Hi, I'm new to the forums so just wanted to say hi. Ok, now let's get down to my problem. When I select Blurred Borders for the Video FX Sony Borders, the border alwaysgets cropped/borded on all 4 ssides. Is there a way to use Video FX so that the Borders will only be controlable vertically?

I have 7.0 so I can't answer for the 8 Pro crowd...and I'm not on my computer right now so I don't have my Vegas open to verify. However, if my recollection is correct, using the borders means all 4 sides. I don't think there is a way through the borders FX to just control it vertically or horizontally. I think the only control is for how much of the object you want bordered.

It just dawned on me that you can probably create the effect you want through cookie cutter and not by attempting to use the border. Play with it and you will probably achieve the effect you are after.
