Audio drops out after two seconds
by Lewis Kerr on Jul 22, 2008 at 11:42:29 am

Hey all
Been doing some editing on Vegas Platinum 8.0c and have only recently come across some problems with audio. The file is an MP3 file, and when editing, if I choose to preview a part, audio only works for around 2 seconds before dropping out. It is not a case of poor cable connections and such as all non-Vegas audio works fine. The strange thing is that Vegas picks it up and knows according to the volume bars, and it often tries keep the noise going, sounding a lot like trying to watch a You Tube video on a slow internet connection.

Any ideas or thoughts?

Thanks!

Check your audio settings and since you are online....update your
audio driver, just to make sure....and see if this helps.

Yeah I have checked my audio settings and nothing seems out of place. How do I update my audio driver?

Thank you

If you are using a dedicated sound card, know the name of it and the series/model, then you visit their website and see where they have
that specific model and if they have the latest driver available for download.
If they do...you then download it, and install.

Lewis,
you can also first go into vegas preferences, and open the 'audio device' tab and adjust the playback buffering and try a few other tweaks and see if things playback a little bit better from the timeline.
