music file, AAC or MP3?
by Kent Clark on Jul 18, 2008 at 6:26:18 pm

I'm doing a film conversion project for family. 8mm film was transferred to miniDV tape. Final output is DVD after assembling in Vegas 8 Movie Studio Platinum.

There is no sound on the miniDV. I don't have much music at home but I've found lots of suitable music at freeplaymusic.com to add to the video. I can download AAC or MP3 audio files. I've searched the manual and the Sony knowledgebase but haven't been able to answer my questions.

Is one preferable to another for my software? Is there a better audio format that I can convert them to before importing into my project?

I've never used AAC but MP3 drops into Vegas just fine.
