Cant play mpg files in vegas 8
by Josh Flentner on Jul 2, 2008 at 11:44:01 pm

Hello,
First off I would like to say that I have no experience in vegas at all.
I try to open an mpg video file and I get this error:
An error has occurred while opening one or more files.
The file is an unsupported format.

How do I fix this?
I tried converting to avi format with a software that I forget but that gave me another error.

Could somebody please point me to the right way to fix this or a good mpg to avi converter that will work for sure.

Thank you very much :)

What kind of MEG is it? Meaning where did it come from? You may not have the particular codec to open that file.

Sounds like it's an MJPEG file, and Vegas 8b should open it. have you upgraded to Vegas Pro 8b?

Ahh,...you have vegas MOVIE STUDIO. you'll need to install an MJPEG codec on your system. They're available all over the web.
Morgan is likely the easiest.
