Upgrade Platinum to Pro Question

Kind of off topic here but couldn't find the answer elsewhere.
I have a computer running Vegas Movie Studio Platinum and I want to upgrade to Pro. Do I need to uninstall the Platinum or does the Pro version install over the Platinum version? I don't want both programs on this computer.

Sony vegas pro is a different installation and application all together, it will not overwrite vegas platinum.
You can have them both running on your system with no conflicts.
Since no need for both on a system...install vegas pro, then
uninstall vegas platinum...doesn't matter which order.

While I agree with Steve that it SHOULD not matter, the safest way to do this is to uninstall Platinum first and then install Pro. The reason is that Sony has shared FX and sometimes the uninstallers will remove something that the other program needs. I'm not saying that this WILL happen but it CAN happen and that's reason enough to uninstall first and then install what you really want on your system. Why tempt fate?
