EVERYTHING that i can think of that is! please someone with higher knowledge of Vegas 7.0 plz HELP!!! for some reason my vegas wants to crash whenever i try and render something. it was not like this a week or so ago when i put out another video of mine. but even in the preview in Vegas it seems to "lag" or be very glitchy. THE CATCH IS, it only skips around in about the first HALF of the clips. most of the second half work just find with the preview. but again when i try and render it. it takes FOREVER to get to about 15% and then it just crashes. i am using the DivX codec. i am going to see if i missed an update on it after this. but i couldnt see why that would be the problem.
PLZ HELP! cheers,
vannny
ps: i have been getting an odd error message lately when i boot up saying COM Surrogate has stopped working. its asks me to close it and i do. i looked online and it said it had something to do with my DivX codec saying a possible source of the problem is an outdated version. but it also gave some instuctions on changing the DEP's (data execution prevention) on my computer i added the rundllhost to the list and it came up on the screen as the COM Surrogate. so i thought HEY I FIXED IT. but then after restarting my computer. Vegas would boot up and without even a heartbeat say it stopped working properly. so i reversed the process and i am basically back at square 1.

HELP QUICK before i PUNCH a WALL and break my hand. AGAIN! LOL

i just tried YET again to render after reinstalling DivX. it got to 18% and then said. An Error Has Occured While Rendering. An Exception Has Happened. or something along the lines of that. when the Detail menu is brought down. it says this jibberish.
thought i would post this in case it could help. my guessing says it will to someone who is a MASTER of Vegas. i hope one of you is out there to see this and advise me on what to do next!

ok. well i am capturing footage from a game called Counter-Strike at a rate of 30 FPS. i then put those frames in a program called VideoMach to compress them into an AVI file using the DivX Codec. i have done this a million times before with now problems. i am beginning to believe it is vegas effin me over once again.

I see that you're using Vegas 7.0a
The latest build is 7.0e so my first suggestion is to upgrade and see if that helps.
DivX encoding works for me (I was lucky enough to get DivX Pro 6.8.3 when they were giving it away a while ago).
If you find that version 7.0e gives you troubles, roll back to 7.0d.
You can find that version in the Sony archives.
