How to leave media online?

Hi guys,
Im doing a large project with 37 8gig SxS cards in my bin - about 300 files. The problem is, that whenever I need to check my mail or check a fact online my media comes offline - actually that isn't the problem - the problem occurs when I re-enter Vegas. It takes forever for the files to come online again. Sometimes I start playing back my entire timeline before leaving the software - that prevents it from going offline, but im sure there must be a way (maybe in preferences) to keep media online at all times?! Can anyone help?

Options - Prefs - General.
Look at the Close media files when not the active application box.
If it's selected, de-select it or vice-versa.
That should help.

I've heard Vegas has a hard time finding files on large hard drives, 500g and larger. Some people are partitioning them into smaller 200 gig partitions with success. Danny
