Preview Monitor Options?

Back in the days of DV, my trusty 14” Sony PVM monitor was always close. Great for accurate viewing!
However in my switch to HDV a year or so ago, I have been working without a preview monitor.
Nevertheless, recently I’ve longed for a preview monitor again, maybe a dedicated a LCD(TV) via HDMI or component. I’ve thought about a second computer monitor display strictly for monitoring, but i'm working in interlaced material...I don’t know how well it would translate. I really haven’t had much exposure to monitoring in HDTV and the options, settings and most of all the compatibility issues are daunting.
I use Cineform NEO HD so that rules out a BMD Intensity card...but I’m not married to Cineform. I’ve heard good things about the 4:2:2 YUV codecs but i know Sony has had some problems with BMD codecs as well as non-full frame rate previews.

Many would look down their nose at my LCD monitor (I am fiscally challenged!) But I use a second video card (SLi but it doesn't have to be) and feed my LCD HDTV. It is a Viewsonic 19 inch and easily supports 720p (native pixel count is 1280 x 768) and Vegas scales 1080 footage to match. It has an HDMI port, among othrs but this DVI solution is working well for me.
