Trying to correct brightly lit face on dark background
by Rick Rintala (Flying Finn Video) on May 18, 2008 at 5:07:00 pm

I have a shoot we did for a church concert. I have a extended shot of the piano player. In this shot they had her lit rather brightly and the video i have has an almost ghost like head with the piano ( black)in front and the choir behind her. The piano and Choir look fine, but shes GLOWING. Can i create a mask to isolate her face from the rest of the shot and adjust brightness and contrast just for her? I cant think of anything else to do. I tried brightness and contrast for the whole shot but by the time i have her adjusted, the rest of the shot is lost. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check out DSE's tutorial called Are You Exposed?.
I think it'll do the job for you.
