I do sports highlights for local highschool team. Make dvd after each game for the kids. So, I render to mpeg 2 for dvda. Works great.
For the end of year movie I will be taking clips from all of these files. If I then re-render to mpeg 2 will I lose any quality?
By the way, I am very grateful to all that post in this forum and others (especially Ed and Spot) for that is how I've come to pretty much master Vegas. Thanks,

Short answer is yes.
Longer answer is to go ahead and try it. You'll probably not be able to visually notice much if any difference. But in the future, keep a copy of the file in the original format (i.e. if you're shooting DV, keep a DV render of the project).
