Good rescaling filter for Sony Vegas

I noticed Sony Vegas Pro doesn't downscale well and you suffer distinct sharpness loss (probably because it leaves it to the encoder).

Anyone aware of a bicubic or Lancos 3rd party filter? I noticed an old post about using virtualdub filters in Vegas? Can this still be done in 8.0b?

Thanks!

Vegas DOES use bicubic - if you render using "Best". Also, if you're resizing (especially zooming in), ALWAYS use Pan/Crop.
