Power Point Question

I am working on a video presentation of a workshop that was done 2 weeks ago. I am editing 3 camera angles together of the speaker and the audience. In addition, the client wants to have shots of the PowerPoint presentation fill the screen, including all animation, at the appropriate times. I ran the PP presentation on my laptop and sent it out to my Sony VX2100 via the S-video jacks. I recorded on mini DV tape and captured the footage to my hard drive. For some reason the slides don't look sharp. Any other ideas of how I could get better results? I'm using Vegas 5 to edit. Thanks.
You'll get better results using a screen cap application running at the same time as you run the PPT slides.
The DV version is very low resolution compared to the original display resolution, and more importantly, they're heavily compressed, so you've lost a lot of information as a result.
If the slides didn't have animations, then I'd recommend simply exporting the PPT as a series of PNGs, but of course, that means you have to hand-animate using transitions in Vegas. Not fun if you have many animations in the show.

I have had very good results with PresenterSoft Power Video Maker. It gives you resolution choices, and choices of WMV, MPG, and AVI. The price is very good, and it is pretty fast.
