Question: Can I pull all the layers of a project file from Sony Vegas and export them to be able to continue the project in Final Cut Pro?
My editor made an amazing project for me in Vegas and provided me with the entire folder containing every piece of media and all the versions of the Sony project files. There are about 8 layers and I need to make adjustments that cant be done after rendering it out and then bring that mastered copy into FCP. Is there a way to bring the project over without having to go through a compression process to be able to have the layers, effects, etc...?

Final Cut cannot open Vegas projects. For simply projects, you might be able to output an EDL from Vegas and import that. If this is a complicated composition, you will be better off letting him make the needed changes and giving you rendered output.
