I have a client that needs a project edited. The project was shot in HDV with the JVC GY-HD110U. I think in 720p. Can Sony Vegas 8 ingest this from the tapes (23 of them) through the cameras firewire out or the JVC deck? I have to edit also and have never worked with HDV.(do I need to convert to another formay?) I use P2 and raylight now. Any help or tips would be appreciated.

Wade...
I use a JVC HD110, regularly. Vegas 8b has a great deal of trouble with captured m2t files from this camera....dropped frames, T/C read errors. The only reliable solution, I have found, is to use Cineform Neo HD, ie HDLINK, to transcode the m2t files before importing into Vegas.
