Rendering with any compression becomes dark
by Winston Ware on Apr 21, 2008 at 2:36:06 pm

Hey,

I’m recording using a Canon Vixia HG10. I can bring those videos into Sony Vegas platinum and edit them etc. If I render the videos uncompressed they come out fine. However, using any compression, they come out significantly darker. I’ve tried different formats and codecs to no avail. I keep getting a darker version than the original and uncompressed versions. Any thoughts or experiences?

Thanks for any insight! Winston

Sony vegas is an editing program it isnt a compression one though it can do it, most video editing programs arent very good at it. My advice would be render it uncompressed then compress it with a compression program like sorenson squeeze or others. hope this helps!
