I am in the middle of making a independent film that we decided to edit on vegas 8 platinum. At first i really liked using the program and things were working fine. Then we were having issues with to many clips on the laptop so we went to eliminate all unused clips. in the process something happened and we now cant open any clips. Even when we capture more clips they cant be opened. It plays as its capturing but once its a clip all it shows is the sony vegas logo instead of the previous still shot from a clip. We deleted EVERYTHING including our half edited film reinstalled vegas and re captured some footage and it still does the same thing. If we bring a rendered clip in from windows movie maker it allows us to open that clip on the time line. Does ANYONE have a clue what the issue may be were quickly running out of time and our hand is over the panic button!!!!

You may have changed the external Harddrive letter (e.g. F,E G etc.) Vegas will not see the footage in that case. So, either change the drive letter back to the original or
right click on the clip in the project media window and click on "Replace". Find the drive where the footage is for each clip.
