dragging ProTitler keyframes is a drag

I managed to teach myself ProTitler yesterday, but have run into a problem synchronizing my keyframes.
Setup: Wide photo of ~15 people fills top of the frame.
Goal: Titles fly out from the lower right corner of the frame into position under each person (or group) (to identify their job functions)
Approach: Created a line of text with all the titles, automated the change in y-axis commonly for the entire line, then separately automated the x-axis position for each word
Complication: I want all my words to lock in place at the same instant. The problem is that dragging the keyframe points on the timeline lacks precision and is rather quirky. In other words, I want to be able to select and automatically align my keyframes in time.
Possible solution: Online help offers an idea:
"Press and hold Shift before dragging to move an envelope point vertically without changing its horizontal position."
Sounds like that would permit aligning the keyframes manually just once, and adjusting parameters while holding shift to keep the points locked in time.
Problem is: it doesn't behave that way! Shift doesn't do anything for me when dragging keyframes in ProTitler.
Questions:
1. Does this work for anyone else? am I doing something wrong?
2. Is there a better way to accomplish the time-alignment I'm trying to achieve?

Turns out that in ProTitler, holding Ctrl+Shift keeps the time fixed (and Alt+Shift keeps the level fixed) when dragging. This is a different set of keys than the drag modifiers in the main timeline (for envelopes) and doesn't match the on-line help (grrr).
Still wondering if there's an easier way to synchronize multiple keyframes on different text blocks....
