I've been a 35mm still shooter for 20 plus years so I'm thrilled that I will be shooting video in 16 x 9.
Are there any True 16 x 9 video cameras (compact) out there that are not HD?
I'm hearing things about the new cameras have a hard time under low light, and I don't have the budget to go all the way to HD yet.
What forum is best for 16 x 9 widescreen question for a person switching from standard video?
I have a number of questions, and I'm committed to editing on Vegas which I know very well and love.

I don't know of any 16 x 9 cameras that are not HD. I have a couple - a Z1 and A1U. But even shooting HD you make a standard DVD at the widescreen template and you should be able to do that with plain DV. DVDA doesn't do Blu-Ray yet.

My little Sony Digital8 280 will shoot in 16x9. I think you can buy one these days for about $230.
It uses tape and is very reliable. I bought a wide lens on Amazon for about $40.
The only item that I wish it had is AV In so I could hook up a head Cam to it.
True, it is a long way from the features of a ProSumer cam, but it is fine for me right now.
I do like the looks of new Sony HS EX but at $6K it is out of my reach for now.
