How to render without recompression
by Emil Seman on Feb 14, 2008 at 4:11:10 pm

I have a video from my camcorder SOny DCR-SR30E mpeg2 interlaced with variabile bit rate. When i edit it it is possible how to render it without recompression (to mpeg2)? Because i don't want to lose quality. Thank you for your help.

You can just grab the .VOB files and put those into the timeline and edit those but when you render back out, depending on your delivery, you're going to have to compress it again. You can render to Quicktime with the Animation codec or you can render out an uncompressed .avi file, but the files will be huge - but they'll be high quality.

What's your intended delivery format?
