Client wants to use a 1 min clip from a DVD movie.
I'm using DVD shrink to get the DVD to VOB. I rename the VOB to MPEG. I then pull in the MPEG to Vegas 7 Pro edit the clip with sound and render to WMV 640x480 30 fps. Then drop the EMV that into PowerPoint.
The results are very inconsistent, I often loose sound sync.

i've been doing same thing this week - 3 vids extracted from single dvd.
all worked fine for me. My dvd original was 25fps so I changed the template to do the same.
when you run the PPT, does it lose sync the first time you run it?
PPT likes to cache media & animation, so I usually recommend the client runs the whole slide show once through, before showing to audience - then the transitions/animations are smooth. Am wondering if you have a related issue
also, what size are your wmvs? PPT doesn't like anything over 100MB, so such files have to be linked to play in their native player (as one has to do with QT files in PPT).
