"Full" Noise Reduction?
by Jaums Sutton on Dec 7, 2007 at 9:17:03 pm

Looking for "full" audio noise reduction - like CoolEdit, where you select a short section that is noise only, make a filter of that noise and apply it to the entire clip.

I don't see that in Vegas 8. Does that come with Vegas Pro 8? Or you have to pay the $279 for Sony Noise Reduction?

NR suite comes with Sound Forge 9, or as a stand-alone.
It's much better than what comes wth any NLE, but not quite as good as what iZotope sells as a stand-alone.

I always do that noise reduction inside Vegas. First apply the correction with Track EQ to erase or minimize certain noise. Save the adjustments to the preset. Call it again anytime you want to reduce the similar noise.
Maybe the result is not maximum as if using stand alone noise reduction program. But so far I am pleased of what Vegas can do for my documentary videos.
