Sony Vegas 8 Multi-cam problem

I have tried 4 or 5 times to follow the instructions given by Edward in the 'Vegas Pro 8-What's New!" article regarding how to use the Multi-Cam tool. I first synced two camera tape videos (wedding) on the timeline, then selected all tracks, then chose Tools/Multicamera/Create multicamera Track. The tracks were then condensed into 1 track (not a pair as Edward suggested). When I selected the "enable multicamera editing" I got two windows in the preview, but they were both the same camera 1. Where am I going wrong??? This is getting frustrating! I also bought the Vasst training for Vegas 8 and it didn't explain it in step by step process either. Us novice editers have to be led step by step. Not trying to step on any toes here because I do appreciate all your great training efforts, just really frustrated! (I've used up 3 evenings trying to figure this out). Thanks ahead of time for any help.

I'm not sure what you did wrong. Here's the process.
1. Add camera 1 to the timeline
2. Add camera 2 to the timeline
You should now have 4 tracks - two video and two audio.
3. Select either the two video tracks are all 4 tracks. If you only select the two video tracks, the audio tracks will remain separate. If you select all 4 tracks, everything will be condensed down to a single pair. The simplest solution is to press "CTRL-A" to just select EVERYTHING.
4. Go to Tools - Multicamera - Create Multicamera Track
Now you can toggle the multi-cam view on and off using CTRL-SHIFT-D and add camera switches as needed. Once done with all camera switches, turn OFF the multi-cam view using CTRL-SHIFT-D.
