Rendering to Quicktime
by Gary569 on May 7, 2007 at 9:35:37 pm

I'm trying to render to Quicktime 7. Vegas says there is no template for that when I select it from the dropdown menu. I spent the $$$ and upgraded to Quicktime 7 Pro expectingthat I couldn't get the plug in until I paid but it still has not created a template in Vegas to render to Quicktime. Any Thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Rendering in QT in Vegas is pretty easy. What do you want to do? A special size? When you go to QT click the custom button (lower right) and there the video tab. In there you will find different setting. Vegas uses the Sorenson codec. I like the 3ivx one (3ivx.com) - cheap ($20) and you get more controls in it. It gives great results, great for the internet. The Sorenson is locked and to get more control you have to pay $300.

You can produce custom sizes or use the templates. I do 400 X 225 for 16 X 9 on the net. Be sure to set it for square pixels.
