How to Color Correct My VHS Transfers?
by anotheruser on Apr 9, 2006 at 10:00:12 pm

I really need some advice on how to color correct my transfers. Many have very undesirable hues. I have taken a screenshot so you can take a look. Any ideas on how I can brighten this up, get the colors corrected and get rid of the greenish hue?

Also, any can't-live-without excellent plugins for Vegas that automate this kind of thing like Photoshop has?

Thanks!!

Your best bet here would be to use the Color Corrector.

You can find a usefull tutorial here

In playing, I added both a Color Curves and a Color Corrector.

For the Color Curves, I made a very minimal "S" shape to help brighten up the image.

I then used the Color Corrector to do a "quickie white balance". To do this, select the complementary color picker for the high and highlight a white area. Do the same with the Low and a black area. And finally do the same with the mid and a "gray" area.
