Dropped Frames
by Johnny_Defect on Jan 16, 2006 at 5:41:31 pm

I used to not experience any dropped frames in capturing a video with Vegas. But one day, with no changes, I started dropping about 150 a minute. I have upgraded my RAM and still, nothing changes.

Is there a setting that can get rid of this? Any advice how to get back to normal capture rates?

Sounds like your hard drive has changed from DMA to PIO. Do what it takes to get it back to DMA.

I've had that problem before. I simply ran a defrag on my drive and the problem was solved.

Dang... maybe that's it. I have been under 15 gig for a couple months now, and I havent had time to clean up my drive to defrag it. Would it really make that much of a difference?

It's worked for me, more than once. Give it a try.
