Can I move DVDA markers on timeline as a group?
by klimvid on Nov 18, 2005 at 4:05:39 pm

DVDA3, on the timeline, I need to move 35 markers to the left 10 frames. What would be the most efficient way to do this?

Well, in Vegas it would be easier because you can move multiple markers at once and there is a script that will generate an .sfl file for you...

But in DVDA you need to move markers one at a time, so the sequence would be:
Click on the first marker, Alt/left arrow 10 times, Drag marker to the cursor, Crtl/right arrow to move to the next marker repeat 34 more times.

Gary

Can you move your clip to the right by 10 frames?

That would be an elegant solution, but I don't know if media can be moved on the DVDA timeline. Can it? If so, how?

[klimvid] "don't know if media can be moved on the DVDA timeline. Can it? If so, how?"

You can't move the primary video, but you CAN move the video on additional tracks. So, in this case you could put a short video on Video track one and your 'real' video on track two. Then just make sure the second angle is all that plays.

But.. you did not say that the 35 markers comprise ALL your markers or I would have already suggested that.

Gary

Yes, I should have mentioned that the 35 markers comprised all the markers in the file. I have two other files in the project with a similar number of markers to move. The first method you mentioned, Gary, worked well and didn't take long at all. I'm glad you mentioned the second video track method, I'll keep that in mind for other applications. Thanks again.
