I am trying to get my files to DVD. It is about 90 minutes of edited footage.
I have Vegas 4 but no DVD architect. I want to to Ulead Disc Creeator but whenver I put my .avi files in, it's shows it's too big.
Should I simply render to MPG2 in Vegas and bring them in that way...? Will I lose a bunch or clarity..? Do I just use the defaults for MPG2 or is there any settings you can suggest..?
Also, at first test, the DVD audio after creation was very loud and distorted...

Yes, you have to transcode the .avi file to MPEG2. You can do that in Vegas, in a DVD authoring program that offers a transcoder, or with a standalone transcoder like TMPGEnc.
See Ed Troxel's Vegas newsletters for information on what compression settings to use to fit various lengths of video onto a DVD.
