Vegas + Long Sequences of Frames
by Rainer K on May 17, 2005 at 12:36:59 pm

I'm getting very frustrated with vegas and long sequences of frames.

i'm bringing in 500 frames of an animation (yes i know i should be using a compositing program in between..but for the purposes of this discussion lets forget that for the moment)

The normally slick and fast responsive vegas grinds to a halt, taking 5 minutes to load all the frames (sequence of .jpgs or .tga's) into the media pool. The files are only 200Kb each, so nothing large there. In addition of this it takes a further 5 minutes to drag the the files into the timeline.

Does anyone have any experience with such issues?

thanks in advance,

ok forget it...i've discovered the solution.

You must chose File->Import Media.
Then select TGA as the file type. Upon doing this a checkbox appears at the bottom of the window allowing you to 'Open as a Sequence'.

The end.
