Hi. I used to frequent the Cow when I was managing the LiveType team and the FxPlug SDK at Apple. Now that I've left to found an iPhone software startup, I want to see if there are any apps that CreativeCOW users would like to see on their iPhones. Do you need something to keep track of metadata when shooting on film? Maybe some kind of special calculator for SMPTE time or focal lengths or something?

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Cheers!

Honestly I would have to say a project/client management application. To make it really usable though it would need a desktop equivalent that it could sync with.

Those other things that you mentioned could be fun but overall not really as useful.

Hey Dave

good to see you here, Apps I would like to see

Metadata ingest (as a viewable xml file, use the ASC / SMPTE 210 Doc as at guide)

Copy and Paste.

D.O.F. / Field of View Calc with film style lens indicators for 1/3 , 2/3 2k and 4K -- this would be really popular in Hollywood where owning an iphone is required to join the union (a joke)

sunrise/ sunset indicator based on current location

Hi Francois,

I noticed that you made an earlier post from your iPhone that didn't make it onto the thread and this post successfully did.

As we are debugging the new mobi interface, I would like to know what you did differently between the two posts -- if you know?

Thanks, Francois.

Best regards,

Yes! A SMPTE Calculator to add and subtract SMPTE time. With options for different frame rates. That would be great!

Just search for timecode in iTunes, and click on Applications. There are now several Timecode Calculator apps in the App Store now:

TCCalc - Timecode calculator
myConvert (unit converter)
time:calc
EditCalc
ITC Calc
TimeCodeCal
timecoder
ITC Calc Light

Some of them are free.
