Hello all,
I don't know about you, but I'm wondering if Apple will add an option in the next firmware update, to select more than one e-mail at a time, so that, rather than deleting them one by one, you would be able to select, and delete multiple e-mails at the push of a button.
It would be a cool addition, as I get hundreds of e-mails a day.

I couldn't agree more. This is the single most-desired feature I'd like to see.
I don't even use the email function on my iPhone because there is no way I could manage the amount of mail I get with a "must read every email and turn them off one at a time" system.
In my opinion, the person who wrote the email functionality for the iPhone should be flogged, keel-hauled and all grog rations should be suspended.

Well, I have to agree with Ron on this one, this really is a feature that should have been included in the latest firmware release, but hey......you never know.....it might be included in 1.1.5?
Yes, I agree let him have the ipod, but make sure the ipod contains a 30 min mega mix of tracks by Britney, MC Hammer, The Spice Girls, & Vanilla Ice.......
It would also be an idea to securely fix the ear phones to his ears, and disable the power off function.......might also be an idea to engage the repeat function.......I think that would be suitable punishment........but having said that.....
An alternative would be to give the app developer an iphone, and send him multiple e-mails, at regular intervals, say, every hour, which he has to delete 'Individually' within a specified period of time......(a la 'Lost').......the penalty for failure would be severe!!!!

At least you have the courage to try to use the email system on your iPhone, Mitch. :o)
Me, I gave up on it last July or August and have only used it a couple of times since, to SEND a few emails. I never check my email using the system. Never.

It actually works fine, it's just the spam that makes it unusable. Not having the ability to delete all the spam emails at once (as you and others have pointed out) really makes it difficult to use...

It may work fine for you Mitch, but there is no way I could handle the mountain of email I get without the ability to delete more than one at a time. I'd have to spend hours on nothing but email. No thanks. I have better things to do and so in the area of email, the iPhone gets ONE COW from the Boomer, thank you.
