lowercase productions is seeking material for a indie budget short film. if you have a 6 to 12 minute screenplay, please submit it. we are looking for dark drama or dark comedy material in the vein of the cohen brothers or todd solondz. we have high caliber hollywood talent lending their name and their talent. the pay is low but could be a great opportunity for a screenwriter to have their movie financed and as always could lead to bigger projects. lowercase is located in los angeles but will accept material regionally or internationally.

Hi. I have a 5-page screenplay called "Meaningless." The logline is: "A married, middle aged man faces the possibility of an affair with a co-worker."

Script available upon request.

Thank you.

Dear Lowercase Productions,

I don't know if you are still looking for dark shorts, but I wrote one for your company. It is low-budget and takes place in one place and has only a handful of actors. I am a writer and would really like to get my name out there more. Here is what my short is about.

When dance academy student Emilee must spend the night on a haunted stage as a part of a hazing ritual, she is terrified. For as long as she could remember, she has heard stories about the dancing mannequin with a silver, rust covered mask that prompts young ballerinas to dance in the middle of the night. When they want to stop, he snaps their bones, starting at their ankles and moving on to their necks. Still, Emilee is a logical person. She knows that there is no such thing as ghosts.

After a man dressed in black wearing a silver mask comes on stage, she thinks that it is just enhanced hazing meant to frighten her. She is determined not to be humiliated and begins to dance with him. Only too soon she realizes her masked partner was not a part of the school hazing ritual. She has two choices, dance all night and suffer or let him snap her joints, one by one.

I am an author of the novels Poachers, Dragon Night, Tasting Silver, Late but not Never, Specimen X, Icy Tales of Draga, E is for Eternity, and P.S. I Killed My Mother, all of which are being published or have been published by traditional houses. I have been interviewed by All Romance e-books, Hobbes End Publishing, and Night Owl Reviews. I have also published multiple articles in the Ogden Valley Herald.

Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Campbell

P.S. This script is available via Celtx in it's original format.
