Scouting for young editor

Hello!

I'm producing a feature film that will be made by a core team of very young people (under 21). The film will have a budget of around $100,000 and likely be shot in Austin, TX. I'm scouting the internet for the best young editor in the world. If you or somebody you know are this person, please send me an email and let me know!

This will be produced in a very experimental way. The team of young people will live in a house together for 2-4 weeks during preproduction, spend a month during production, then the director and editor will spend 1-2 months editing. A documentary film will be made simultaneously about the efforts of the inexperienced but talented team.

This project is in its early stages, but finding the core team is the starting place.

We are also still scouting for a cinematographer, production designer, and sound designer/mixer.

I would love to be a part of this project! I'm 16, and have made a couple of short (and pointless) short action films, for no reason other than because I could.

Unfortunately, I do live in London, England, and I saw there that the team will live in a house for 2-4 weeks, so I thought living in England might be a problem. If it is just tell me and I'll have to give this a miss, but if there is a way that we could work over the internet, it would be brilliant!

Hi Drew,

I've just finished my second year at Westminster Film School, London and feel I'm ready to take on a project of the scale you've described. Without sounding too arrogant I feel I'm the best editor in my University and would fit excellently in your team. Obviously though I'm in London so I'm guessing that rules me out. Depends on dates I would be willing to venture to america to complete the project, so I guess that shows how keen i am. Would the editor receive a salary? I am a video editor with a few years experience and I'm looking for a project. I currently live in Portland, OR, but I was born and raised in Austin. It would be great to be able to return there to work on a project. I've worked as an editor for SXSW and most recently for a spherical video company.
