i have 2 tapes that i need to have edited into a 45 min ish tape.
i shot a wedding thinking that i could use imovie to edit it... i was wrong... the results are crap... i need help...
the problem is, i did this project for portfolio only. the wedding coordinator is one of the busiest in the state, i wanted to be like a drug dealer (first ones free)
she has promised me 2- 5 weddings per week if i choose to take them.
so heres my offer, edit this video, use it in your portfolio, and i will give you a lot of future business from this client.
i currently have several other higher paying projects as i am an As.Producer on a magazine style tv show.
about the video...
It was shot around sunset in Hawaii in a Waikiki Resort. it was shot on a sony vx2000 (3ccd) (NTSC)
the couple is african american and attractive. there is a lot of pretty palm tree shots, sunset shots, orchid shots etc.... the reception was pretty laid back... all n all... this should be a breezy job for someone that knows their stuff.
if your interested, call me... ill find a way to get you the footage

I am a freelance shooter/editor and have been shooting/editing in different capacities for more than 10 years. I currently shoot with an HVX200 and a few 3-chip mini DV cameras, and edit with Final Cut Pro.
My experience includes multi-camera shooting/editing for clients like the Jason Upton Band, Studio50five, as well as a large number of corporate and religious conferences. I just finished shooting a documentary/promo video for the YMCA and another music video for the Crash Romeo Band and Director/Actor Jason Marsden, SAG. I have been involved in multiple Broadcast TV projects for Melliena Beckmann, Senior Producer Channel 1 & 2, the Netherlands as well as corporate promotional videos for clients like Fortune 500 Company Dun & Bradstreet, among others.
Was the footage shot only on the VX2000? Was there more than one cam? Are there any tripod/steadycam/crane/dolly shots? I am also curious how you foresee collaboration on future (paid) projects.

Also I have edited many weddings in the past.
Or my most recent work special fx for www.wondertouch.com, look under pro emitter by Rath Phalkunabba.
Or what I'm working on now as lead movie Editor, lead Visual FX, lead sound FX engineer for the movie,
Why do I waste my time on your problem?
Just say, I was once in your situation and someone who care enough to help me. I want to give back. Nothing can make me happier than that.
I'm a Professional Freelancer. I work on anything that make me happy. Money comes and go, sometimes more money sometimes little money, sometimes not a penny.
BUT I'M HAPPY.

You need a WEDDING editor! You're just in luck because I am such. I've been editing weddings full-time for over five years. You can see my work at wendiweb.com/demo.html. I'm located in San Jose, CA.
Let me know if I can help!
I actually directed this from a hospital bed last June, but I was able to recovery in time to cut the piece. It's only a short version of a much longer piece (15min.) I'm not quite sure about a 45min take on a wedding video unless you really have enough to keep the audience interested. But we'll talk about that if you want me to put my tiwst on it.
For now, just take a gander at what I did with this latest wedding vid I did and we'll talk later.
Looking forward to talking,
- Patrick

aloha indeed,
we are currently building a wedding videography biz for the summer and looking for gigs to fill up books for this coming summer 2008. We have two key editors and one beginner who is slowly learning the ropes. I would be interested in discussing the minimal pay offered.... we're be willing to go for a small, but adequate sum for editing time.
i'd love to have that destination wedding in our portfolio. would like to see footage. do you have anything online at all? - i know that's probably a no....
its been 2 months since you posted your request for an editor, but if you've already moved on with that Hawaii editing project, i would still be interested in talking biz!

p.s. (grin) note: i'm not sure what kind of FCP editor would recomen imovie...its pretty much the bottom of the barrel and consumer level stuff. can create some fast, sharp lookin slideshows, but not at all intuitive with video editing. sorry you were misled.

Conrad, I know it's been 3 months but this is the kind of work I'm looking for. I've been editing video for 20 yrs and film before that. I have my own Production company but I'm 69 and tired of shooting but love editing. We specialized in events and lots of weddings. I am a charter member of WEVA and an award winner for wedding productions. If you have more of this kind of editing I won't want an arm and a leg to edit and I have the best editing equipment on the market and I've tried it all. E-mail me and let me know.
