Sci-Fi/Fantasy Indie Game Seeking 3D Artist/Animators
by Ashes Morgan on Aug 12, 2009 at 10:53:35 pm

Greetings community. My name is Ashes, the president of a large indie game making team online entitled EkIchi Games.

Our current project is a science fiction/fantasy genre RPG split into separate parts and will be a COMMERCIAL product. I posted this in low/no pay section for a few reasons:
1. Nobody on the team gets paid a flat rate, but instead benefits from merchandise sales where the profit is split between the individuals whose works appear on the merchandise.
2. Everyone who lends a hand in production gets paid profits from game part sales once each part is completed.
3. I have tried paying up front before, only to be swindled out of money that could have been used to benefit the team as a whole. Therefor, I now believe you must work and see everything through to completion in order to be paid monetarily.
4. I would not like to have co-workers who are in this just for the money itself. I want passionate individuals who love games, especially of the sci-fi genre. I'd like to create friends and fans, not people who work for me just because I have cash to dish out.

That being said, our project is of the science fiction/fantasy RPG genre, so buffs of those particular interests listen up! We have a few spots open for 3D modelers/animators and texture artists. Currently the brilliant 2D artists are fixing up character reference images to be modeled from, so we will have a precise direction to flow into.

Candidates will not necessarily have to be pro at 3D programs (Max, Maya, Blender, etc.), we like beginners, too, who want to grow into a team so they can have a full time career with us in the future. The main criteria: Passion, Perseverance, Dedication, and Hard Work.

Some environment models are already modeled up and waiting for some nice textures to be applied. If you can model and texture, this would be a plus! But we will take one or the other as well.

Project storyline and more details can be obtained through e-mailing me at ekichigames[at]yahoo[dot]com. Even if you can't fill a position and just want to receive the newsletter, give me a shout and I can invite you to the ever growing new forums.

Thanks for any and all interest. Hopefully some individuals who love games and deep storylines that can touch peoples' hearts will help bring this wondrous creation into vivid life.

All the best.

- Kujiforo, President EkIchiGames

Hi,

I'm interested in helping out. I am a 3D artist with main focuses in modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering. I use XSI 6.5, and After Effects for touch up and post work. I also am an editor, so if you have any video sequences that you need editing/composting help on, I'm game. You can see some of my work at the following link:

http://tcportfolio.cgsociety.org/gallery/

I've done modeling for games before, so I'm used to modeling high and low poly. Anyway I'd love to help out. I'll send this message to your email too.

Thanks!

Hi

Im new to the industry and am looking to start into the level design side of things, with experience (limited experience mind) in 3d modeling, I can use blender profficiently, and am always looking to learn new skills. I "specialise" in enviroment modeling (although i haven't figured out large lanscapes and natural enviroments, as of yet) such as buildings. And levels for fps games.

I would love to be involved in ANY project to learn new skills and techniques.

Where would we be without rehtorical questions?

We could use more environment modelers/texture artists. =) Send me an e-mail so I can get your contact information and be able to keep you updated. I also have the link to our workspace online where you will find most of the action.

Dear Ashes,

My name is Santino Farro, and I am a 3D Animator based in New Jersey. You may view my 3D Demo Reel at http://www.santinofarro.com/DemoReel.html. I have attached a Reel Breakdown to this email for your perusal, and have also emailed this message to your yahoo account.

I have never worked professionally in 3D before, however I take great pride in the work that I create, I carry the passion and desire to make a great game, and will work hard to create some great Animations and Models for you.

My strongest talents in 3D lie in Character Animation, while also being a capable Modeler and Texture Artist. While I prefer character Animation work, I will take any work that is available.

I also am a Concept Designer and Color Artist if you are in any need for one, whether for this project or any other. You may view my Concept and Illustration work at:

http://www.santinofarro.com/ConceptArt.html and

I would like to receive a copy of the Project Storyline, as mentioned in the advertisement, and any other details that would help me understand what you are looking for and what the project entails. I look forward to your response!

Hello, my name is Spencer Goldberg. Currently, I am in Columbus, Ohio, working at an animation studio. Though I've been here for a few years now, the future looks bleak for us. I'm not sure how much long I will remain here, and I'm really looking to relocate to a larger market. I'd like to offer my services, but take not that I am mainly looking for a job that can support my relocation. Here are some of my current projects:
