Nucleo changing my AE memory prefs?

Hi,
I've just recently noticed that my AE prefs for memory & cache have been changed somehow since Nucleo was installed...I set max memory usage to 120% and max RAM cache size to 70% and I have Nucleo set to maximum performance and to use all 4 cores and leave 512mb free. However, when I go to look back at my AE prefs my max RAM cache is now set to something like 38.2000000% and I can't seem to preview as many seconds in my timeline.
Does anyone know what this actually means and what is happening here? I am very new to Nucleo and would love a definitive answer on how to have my settings set up the most effectively. My machine specs should be in my sig below (the mac system)
I am working on pretty big comps (6,000+ x 720 pix) and about 1min duration and just want fastest and longest previews possible.
Thanks,
Jim.

If After Effects crashes (or is forced to quit from the Task Manager/Activity Monitor) then the memory settings that Nucleo's render processes are using can overwrite the After Effects memory settings.
Nucleo's processes are faceless After Effects render engines and use the same prefs file. Nucleo temporarily sets a different RAM Cache number, starts the processes and then sets them back.
When AE quits the current prefs get written into the prefs file. In a crash the Nucleo processes may write their settings out since they are "last out the door".

Thanks Chris. At least I know what it is now.
BTW - is there anyway to stop Nucleo closing and then re-opening a project after rendering? Seems a bit of a weird behaviour and I have a particular project that takes quite a while to open and currently after each job in the render queue I have to wait for it to re-open before rendering the next clip. This is a problem for overnight renders if there are any checkboxes that pop-up on opening a project (ie: warnings saying footage needs re-connecting, etc)
