GenArts (http://www.genarts.com) has acquired wondertouch.
Do a Google news search on "wondertouch" for starters, and there are more details on the wondertouch website, but the important things to know right now are that:
1) For customers, everything remains the same. Still go to wondertouch.com for purchases, support, monthly emitters, etc.
2) I get to go back to spending most of my time working on future versions of particleIllusion.
Plus we've got a release date for the Windows version of particleIllusion for After Effects: first half of December. Mac version in Feb.
Read the acquisition FAQ on the wondertouch site, and feel free to ask any questions. Exciting times!

I'll 2nd that.
From reading the GenArts site, for us users, it's business as usual were we still go through Wondertouch for any support or purchases of Particle Illusion.
So as a user, what, if anything will effect us? Quicker new versions? A 3D version? Etc?
I know the AE version seems to be big for GenArts from reading the web page.

Alan,
Congrats on the sale and you continuing the progress of Particleillusion. I have two concerns regarding this.
1. If ParticleIllusion is no longer produced will you honor your agreement to make a patch to remove the activation thing as promised in an email from two years ago?
2. Is ParticleIllusion v4 being planned on for Windows platform users?

With the announcement of the AE thing, does this mean it will be ring-fenced away from SONY Vegas? Or are GenArts considering porting Pi to SONY Vegas too?
