How do I save a "Search"?
by Graham Bernard on May 14, 2009 at 9:17:18 am

I've needed to find emitters with "Dust Puff". Having now got this within a group in Particle View, how do I save THIS as group or DUST Library, or something I can retrieve on mass FOR working on in the workspace?

TIA,

Grazie

In Windows Explorer you can make a new folder in your emitter folder and copy all the selected emitters to this new folder. This allows you to open these selected emitters very fast using the quick load option.

Thanks Theo. So I can't do this from within the Search facility? If so, it should be.

You can't save search results. You'll never have this ability in particleView. You will have this ability in particleIllusion 4.

You cannot move emitters in Windows Explorer -- you can only move library files.

So, was Theo was referring to library files? I'm confused?

In any event, Alan, just how would I collect the Dust Puffs, from a search, into a Favourite Library?

That's what I am about.

TIA

You'll have to write down the library names from the search, then back in particleIllusion 3 use the Library Manager.

This video explains it:

Excellent video, and I accessed this prior to your feedback too.

Oh well, bring on pI4 then . . .

. . will that be a plug-in into SONY Vegas?

Cheers

No. particleIllusion is the standalone app.
