I am having alot of problems with my computer lately and think it may be due to my S2VR HD drive.
When working in Final Cut with footage that resides on the drive it drops frames often and when media managing projects it freezes the applications. I have to force quit FCP every time, but it never actually quits - the app shuts down but the arrow underneath doesn't go away in the dock. So I then have to hard restart the computer.
Also when running disk warrior on it the last time the application froze leaving all the white lights lit up and just one blue one lit up second from the top.
Does this sound like a caldigit drive error? Are there any other tests I can do to figure out exactly what is wrong?
My system specs are FCP 6.0.4, quicktime 7.5, OS 10.5.4.
I have also repaired all the disks, zapped the p ram, repaired the disk permissions on the HD which leads me to believe the caldigit drive is the culprit.
Hopefully someone can chime in and provide some insight.

Since you have tried a lot of stuff, I would recommend moving your data off of the RAID and rebuilding it. Then move your data back, and see if that solves your problem.

Thanks for the help.. but i think I may have more serious issues...
Hey Ernie,
I ran some tests with the tech tool cd and here is what i found on the different drives:
I just ran the program from the applications folder and did not use the tech tool cd as a start up disk... not sure if it makes a difference or not?

Again I would suggest you rebuild the RAID. If that does not solve your problem, there is a chance it could be hardware related. However, your description makes it sound like their could be directory and file corruption.

Honestly I love to do a clean install of everything about once a year. It is a big pain in the ass, but it makes a noticeable difference.
If you are unable to resolve some of these issue via Disk Warrior and Tech Tool, it is probably a good idea.
If you can isolate the problem it will make your life easier. If a clean install does not help you then you know it is likely hardware. But at this point I think we can rule out the S2VR HD. Maybe you should try the Apple Store or Apple tech support.
