S2VR HD mounts randomly on old system and crashes new system

Sorry for these very long 2-part/2 system questions but perhaps the background info will help solve what's going on.
FIRST:
We have a G5 Quad with Leopard 10.5.8, Kona LHe, FCP 6 and a S2VR and FASTA-4E. For quite some time we've had some weird issues with the S2VR not always mounting and/or preventing start up and shut down of the G5.
-Rarely will the S2VR mount with no issues.
-Sometimes it won't mount to the desktop at all.
-Most often it mounts but we get the message "initialize, ignore, eject"
We select "ignore" and continue to work without any performance issues, working in SD uncompressed and HD projects.
If the S2VR is turned on first, then the G5, the G5 will boot to a solid blue screen and hang there. If we turn off the S2VR during the boot the G5 then starts normally. Then we turn on the S2VR again, get the "initialize, ignore, eject" message, hit "ignore" and work all day.
On shutdown with the S2VR on, the G5 again goes to a solid blue screen and hangs. Turn off the S2VR during shutdown and the G5 then proceeds to shut down normally.
SECOND:
Have a new 8-core Intel MacPro with SnowLeopard, FCP 7 and a Kona LHi (in slot 2 per AJA).
-Installed FCP7, rebooted and ran FCP7 with no issues.
-Moved the S2VR to the new MacPro.
-Removed the CalDigit FASTA-4E from the G5 and put it in the Intel MacPro(slot 4 per AJA).
-Downloaded/installed latest S2VR manager and FASTA-2E driver.
-Shut down, turned on the S2VR first then rebooted the MacPro and everything seemed OK. Could access the data on the S2VR, etc.
-Downloaded/installed latest AJA Kona LHi drivers.
-On reboot it appeared fine, S2VR was on the desktop but the minute I double clicked it got the Mac gray screen "push pwr. button to restart your computer".
-Now on every start up it gets to the desktop, icons for everything appear but then the gray screen "push pwr. button to restart" appears, now happens every time I try to boot the new MacPro.
Put the FASTA-4e back in the G5, hooked up the S2VR. Other than the issue with selecting "ignore" at start up it's working and I am able to edit.

Downloaded the latest drivers from the CalDigit site today before the install. Only other PCIe cards are the AJA Kona LHi and the ATI GPU.
Also I understand there are industry issues with the Sil3124 chipset used in these systems and others. Is that chip used in the drive chassis and the FASTA-4E? Or only the controller card? If so, is their an alternative card to use? Just curious.

The S2VR HD is an older CalDigit product, slightly before my time at the company. So I'm not as familiar. You will achieve optimum results using our card as a opposed to a third party.
I wish I could be of more help, but I suggest you give our tech support a call, as they know more about tech S2VR series that I. Or if you prefer I can have them contact. you.
