Kevin P. McAuliffe uses BCC 8 AE's new Stage Light filter to create a 3D volumetric lighting effect with a logo - similar to what you might see on "American Idol" or "The X Factor".

Nice tutorial Kevin, but its a little misleading to say " you would have to go to a really high end 3D or compositing application" to get this kind of effect because AE could not do it.

Boris does a fine job, but I just wanted to clarify there is the ability to do it many ways.
